The 2002 Olympic Winter Games are only weeks away, and BYU students, staff and faculty are ready to be a part of the experience. Whether in competition, in volunteering or in performing, hundreds of local residents are planning to participate in dozens of different aspects of the Games.
This look into BYU's Olympic involvement includes a glimpse at former BYU students-turned-athletes, the scores of volunteers for SLOC and other organizations, and the performers who add to the cultural aspect of the Games. All these participants hope to make a name not only for themselves, but for their school and the state in which the Olympics will take place.
