Brigham Young University is home to more than 2,000 international students and more than 200 permanent residents. They come from all over the world and bring their own sense of culture, religion, and reasons for choosing BYU.
Diversity has three major divisions: ideological, religious, and cultural. Although the majority of BYU students are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there is a plethera of religions represented -- each brings an opportunity to learn and grow from others. Also with more than 100 countries represented, they bring traditions, beliefs and identity of their nation.
As students come to Utah Valley, they also bring with them an opportunity for residents to gain first-hand experience with a culture they may never have had a chance to experience.
