Utah Youth Symphony comes to Utah County

Youth Symphony Practices in a Holiday, Salt Lake County, church cultural hall

A symphony orchestra made entirely of young musicians will come to Utah County to help spread the Olympic spirit.

As part of the Cultural Olympiad, the Utah Youth Symphony is on touring Utah and neighboring states. They will stop in Utah County toward the end of the Olympics.

The youth symphony is made up of 170 young musicians between 12 and 21 years old. The regular symphony members will be joined by 38 guest musicians from around the world.

They come from Costa Rica, China, Taiwan, Israel, Italy, France, and Australia and will play with the symphony throughout their Olympic tour.

The Utah Youth Symphony is presenting American composer, Aaron Copland’s Third Symphony, including the famous “Fanfare for the Common Man.”

The Utah Youth Symphony will play in Utah County on Friday, Feb. 22 at Timpview High School.
