Like them or not, blind dates are a fact of life at BYU.

Cultural pressure to get married often pushes people to play matchmaker with their friends.

"It seems like there is always someone looking to set you up with their friend or cousin," said Brock Lyle, a senior from Park City, Summit County, majoring in comparative literature, "at least as long as they think you are not going out with anybody else."

Whether or not you enjoy blind dates really depends on personality.

"If you make friends easily, it is usually no problem," Lyle said, but I have also doubled with a friend and his blind date when they didn't talk or seam to have anything in common, the whole evening was agony for everybody.
