President James E. Faust presents General Authorities for sustaining

President James E. Faust led the sustaining of General Authorities.

James E. Faust presented the sustaining and releasing of several brethren.

In light of his new calling as president of Brigham Young University, Cecil O. Samuelson was released from the Quorum of the Seventy and as general president of the Sunday School.

Merrill J. Bateman was sustained as a member of the Quorum of the Seventy and as the new general president of the Sunday School.

Elder A. Evan Cornish was released from the Seventy because of his call as a mission president.

Elder Bruce D. Porter was sustained as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy. Mervin B. Arnold, Shirley Christensen, Clay W. Mast Jr., William W. Parmley and W. Douglas Shumway were sustained as members of the Second Quorum of the Seventy.
