BYU football fans have a reason to cheer even before the new season begins as a new book entitled “13-0: Reflections of Champions” will be released this week.

The book recaps the amazing 1984 national championship season, and provides a “then and now” look at the players and coaches who made that season so memorable.

A launch party for the book will take place today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bleachers Sports Grill in Provo. Several members of the 1984 team, including Robbie Bosco, Mark Bellini, Blaine Fowler, Louis Wong, Cary Whittingham and Korey Rasmussen will be there to sign copies of the book. The book usually retails for $17.95, but is for sale at $16.95 at this event.

Bleachers Sports Grill is located at 2255 N. University Parkway in Provo.

The book is published by Spring Creek Books and was produced in cooperation with BYU and the Cougar Club. The book is filled with game photos, as well as current photos of the players and their families. In the book, coach LaVell Edwards and the players share humorous and poignant experiences, and give advice for up-and-coming athletes.

“This is a book that BYU fans will treasure,” said Chad Daybell, president of Spring Creek Books. “It has been fascinating to see what these players have accomplished in the two decades since that season. Their accomplishments are impressive.”

The book was written by Candace Salima, an accomplished author whose novel “Out of the Shadows” is a top seller in the LDS market.
