Cubicles were transformed into prison cells and graveyards while the hall was made into a pirate ship for a Web site analysis company's annual Halloween party.
At the Omniture office in Orem, hundreds of employees and their children celebrated Halloween by turning the office into a maze of decorations.
It has become a tradition at Omniture to hold a Halloween party every year and to invite the employees' children to trick-or-treat in the building.
The company has celebrated Halloween since its beginning, but as the company grows, so does the party, said Andrew Watson, the public relations manager.
Different departments within the company compete for the best decorations and costumes.
The engineering department was decorated as a carnival, with a photo booth, cotton candy machine and games for children. The marketing department featured a 'competitor crypt' and danced to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" once every hour.
The executive's hall was decorated like Disneyland, with the executives dressed like Disney characters, in honor of the company's recent gaining of the Disney account.
There is no work on Halloween, just the party and the competition, Watson said. The winning department gets $5000 to put towards a department party, he said. The party is a big deal at Omniture, he said.
"If you don't show up prepared for Halloween, you might as well not come at all," Parkin said.
The party includes several activities for employees' children. Each department has candy to pass out to the children trick-or-treating as well as games, prizes and a petting zoo.
