After a bye week the Cougars will take their unbeaten record into this weekend when they face off against their little sister, Rexburg, and instate rival Utah State.

BYU will use their game against BYU-Idaho to shake off the rust that can sometimes accumulate after a down week. This is the first year Rexburg is playing in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division-II Hockey League, and are quickly learning that the competition in Division II is stiff. Last week, Utah State set a team record for goals beating Rexburg 23-1. The Cougars will look to play all lines on Friday and return to game form before taking on a Utah State team that beat them twice in 2006.

"Utah State is a great team, but they seem to be struggling right now and are not getting the wins that they had in previous years," said head coach Ed Gantt. "They will be looking to get back on track against us, and we will be looking to get our first win ever in their barn."

The Aggies are 5-5-1, but seem to have the Cougars number in Logan. Last year they beat the Cougars 6-5 and tied 3-3 in the two games played in Logan.

"They will definitely have the sixth man advantage," Gantt said. "They always bring a good crowd against us, but this bye week was just long enough that we are fresh, healthy and hungry to play."

The Cougars are recovering after a physical overtime game against UVSC two weeks ago.

The first game will be played at Seven Peaks Ice Arena Friday at 8:30 p.m., and the Cougars will travel to Logan Saturday to take on the Aggies.
