Do you want to feel like a superstar for the evening? The Springville Museum of Art is having a dazzling night for their 42nd annual Art Ball, and guests can get dressed up in their most magnificent gowns and suits for a night of glamour and fun.
A light buffet will be served followed by big band dancing. Gordon Harkness accompanied by Bob Bailey on the piano will perform a vocal performance.
Live artists will be at work, a gallery stroll, a performance by the Springville High School Jazz Trio and Vocal Ensemble and the crowning of the new Art Queen Royalty will take place that evening.
"We're really going to give our guests the red carpet treatment this year," said Linda Priest, co-chair of the event, on the museum's Web site. "We're planning to sweep them away to the glamour of Hollywood."
Proceeds from this year's event will support the development of the new museum sculpture garden.
Guests can have their photo taken by the "paparazzi," or they may participate in the costume contest by coming dressed as their favorite Hollywood star or movie character. Prizes will include signed Hollywood memorabilia.
A silent auction will include overnight stays at Marriot Hotels in Napa Valley, California and Provo, an electric scooter, a tooth whitening kit and an autographed photo of Charlton Heston.
Tickets are now available at the museum or online. They cost $25 per person in advance and $35 per person at the door. This event will take place on Saturday, May 3 from 7 - 11 p.m.
