Tickets for the inaugural men's basketball 2008 Stadium Shootout, featuring Louisville vs. Minnesota and BYU vs. Arizona State, go on sale Saturday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m.

The doubleheader will be played December 20th at the renowned University of Phoenix Stadium in Phoenix. Louisville and Minnesota will tip off at noon while the Cougars and Sun Devils will play later in the evening.

All four teams in the event won at least 20 games last season and all participated in postseason tournaments. The Cardinals and Golden Gophers will display championship coaches Rick Pitino and Tubby Smith, respectively, who will face each other for the first time since Smith left Kentucky for Minnesota.

The host Sun Devils will face BYU and Lee Cummard, who is making a homecoming visit since prepping at nearby Mesa High School and being named the 2004 Arizona Republic Player of the Year. The 2007-08 MWC champion Cougars will play a Sun Devil team led by All-Pac 10 performers James Harden and Jeff Pendergraph.

The games mark the first-ever basketball event at the stadium and hopes are that it sets the attendance record for a basketball game in the state of Arizona. Officials are also making a bid for the stadium to be the future host of the NCAA Final Four.

Tickets will be available online at the Web site, ticketmaster.com or any Ticketmaster retail locations. More information is available at the Web site, stadiumshootout.com.
