Theft

May 10: A student’s bike was stolen from a Heritage Halls bike rack. His bike had been locked to the rack. The bike is valued at $800.

May 11: A female student’s wallet was stolen from the bathroom in the TMCB.

May 13: A student’s bike was stolen from the bike rack at the JKB. The bike is valued at $200.

May 14: A student’s iPod was stolen from the custodial closet in the MARB.

Found Property

May 12: An individual found a pill container on the ground at the bus stop and called police, concerned that a child would pick up the pills. The officer collected about 50 various pills scattered on the ground and placed them in evidence.

Suspicious Behavior

May 10: A male and female were found around 1 a.m. sitting on the air duct vent near the JKB. Officers asked them to leave.

May 14: Around 1 a.m., an individual reported that someone attempted to turn the front doorknob to her Wyview Park apartment. No suspects were found when officers arrived.

May 15: A passerby reported a suspicious couple in the rear seat of a parked car. When the officer arrived he found the male and female were just visiting with each other.

Juvenile Problem

May 11: Several juveniles were riding bikes on the basketball court at Wymount Terrace and were said to have been making loud noises around 11 p.m. They were gone when officers arrived.

Welfare Check

May 12: The Provo Police were dispatched in an attempt to locate a woman with her children who was thought to be at risk in the WSC. Officers could not find the woman or her children.

Trespassing

May 12: Three couples were seen on security cameras to have trespassed on the LaVell Edwards Stadium field. They had taken strips of plastic to spell out “Hi,” then replaced that with an obscene phrase. They also used a lawnmower. The suspects have not been identified.

May 14: An adult male banned from all university property was found trespassing. He was arrested, cited and escorted off campus.

Graffiti

May 12: A student reported graffiti at the east side of the Tanner Building on the sidewalk. It was painted in black letters with a white background, saying, “Capitalism Rulez.” Grounds crew quickly cleaned up the area.

Hazardous Material

May 13: An individual called to report a strong odor coming from somewhere inside the Tanner Building. Officers discovered it was only the maintenance crew unclogging toilets, bringing out sewer gas odors. That section of the building was aired out.
