Property damage

May 29: A urinal in the men’s restroom in the TMCB was torn from the wall. There are no suspects.

June 4: A moose was loose on campus so police called the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. Officials came and tranquilized the moose. However, before going down the moose damaged two vehicles in the parking lot across from the SAS Building.

Drug Arrest

June 3: An EFY counselor thought he could smell marijuana in Gates Hall around 11 p.m. He found three EFY participants smoking marijuana in the stairwell. Police said the juveniles will be charged.

Theft

May 29: A Dell computer monitor was stolen from a hallway in the TMCB. The monitor is valued at $50.

May 30: A bike was stolen from the ASB bike rack. Police found the stolen bike at Glenwood Apartments, returned the bike to its owner and said a student suspect was issued a citation for class B theft.

May 30: A locked bike near the Tanner Building was stolen. The bike is valued at $108.

May 30: A bike had been stolen sometime last December, however, the victim never filed a bike theft report. The male noticed his bike on campus, notified police and was able to have his bike returned to him.

June 2: An office chair was taken from the Faculty Office Building. The chair is valued at $900.

June 3: A locked bike near the Wilkinson Student Center was stolen. The bike is valued at $200.

June 3: A locked bike near the RB was stolen. The bike is valued at $100.

Suspicious Activity

June 3: Officers found a male and female lying on the ground in Lot 26 around 4 a.m. The couple said they were just visiting with each other. They were asked to leave.

Traffic offense

June 1: The driver of a campus golf cart was seen driving recklessly, almost hitting a pedestrian near East Campus Drive. The driver admitted his errors and was issued a

citation.

Fire

May 31: An officer was dispatched to Wyview Park from a report that 15 people had started a bonfire in the parking lot with wood pallets. They told officers they had lit the fire in a barbecue grill at first and then moved it to the parking lot. The fire had been extinguished before officers arrived at the site.

Family problem

May 31: A 13-year-old male living in Wymount Terrace called police from his cell phone to report that his mother was being abusive. The male was in the bathroom for a 30 minute time-out session and told police that he felt that punishment was too harsh.

Trespassing

May 31: A phone call came in reporting a male alum and a female student had been kissing in the grass near a Wymount Terrace complex, making the caller and his family feel uncomfortable. The officer arrived and asked them to leave.

Disorderly conduct

May 30: Occupants in a white truck were squirting people with water squirt guns in the Cannon Commons area around 11 p.m. The students were located by police and apologized.

Police Tip

Safe-walk is a University Police program that promotes personal safety by escorting students from one campus location to another campus location. Students desiring assistance to or from off-campus locations should contact their home teachers, priesthood quorums or roommates for assistance. If assistance is not available, University Police will provide accompaniment on a case-by-case basis.
